SPEAKERS TECHLAW.FEST 2018: AMELIA CHEW
Co-founder & Editor
Amelia is a final year undergraduate pursuing a double degree in Law and Liberal Arts, with a minor in Global Affairs, at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Yale-NUS College. Amelia’s foray into legal tech was born out of a sense of frustration at the narrative that robots would be taking over the jobs of lawyers and a sense of curiosity about how technology can be harnessed to make the provision of legal services more efficient and accessible.
Seeking to build a better narrative about the role of tech in transforming the legal industry, Amelia co-founded LawTech.Asia together with a team of law students and law graduates in 2016. LawTech.Asia is an online publication that aims to drive the discourse surrounding law, technology and policy issues in Southeast Asia, and is proud to be a media partner of TechLaw.Fest 2018. Amelia also strives to make legal knowledge accessible to small businesses as a marketing intern at cloud legal platform Zegal (formerly Dragon Law), and promotes positivity within the legal fraternity through the power of story together with the team at Letters of the Law.
