ALITA is a regional network uniting over 10 countries across Asia-Pacific with a shared purpose to drive collaboration in legal innovation and technology in the region. ALITA’s mission is to (i) Promote the development and use of legal technology, as well as to advance thought leadership and education in the fields of legal innovation and technology; (ii) Aid the efforts of national legal technology associations and provide guidance and expertise in the creation and operation of local legal technology associations; and (iii) Enhance connections, collaboration and coordination between legal technology associations, regulators, law firms, technology companies and legal technology interest groups across the Asia-Pacific to generate opportunities for stakeholders.

Asian Business Law Institute (ABLI)

The Asian Business Law Institute (ABLI) is a neutral, non-profit permanent think tank based in Singapore that is dedicated to providing practical guidance in the field of Asian legal development and promoting the convergence of Asian business laws. ABLI’s work aims to remove unnecessary or undesirable differences between Asian legal systems that pose obstacles to free and seamless trade. With data underpinning today’s digital economy and technological advance, one of ABLI’s flagship projects is to converge the laws and frameworks for cross-border transfer of personal data in Asia.

Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS)

Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS) empowers its members and communities to use blockchain and scalable technology to achieve business growth and transformation. As the only such association in Singapore to be supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, it aims to be an effective platform for members to collaborate with multiple stakeholders -including regional and international – to discover solutions and promote best practices in a collaborative, open and transparent manner. Additionally, the association also aims to promote blockchain knowledge, establish a strong reserve of talents in the digital economy, and lay a solid foundation for Singapore’s digital economy. 

Cyber Youth Singapore

Cyber Youth Singapore (CYS) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2019 and was awarded a charity status in 2021. Our work revolves around empowering youth in Singapore to discover their passion in technology while providing them with opportunities to be innovative in giving back to the community. CYS manages a membership base of over 1,700 youths and is also Singapore’s first charitable youth movement focused on advancing the digital future. From technical workshops to attachment programmes to awareness talks and innovation initiatives, we aim to nurture and develop a digitally robust generation capable of traversing Singapore’s digital frontier.

DEPA International Centre

The DEPA (Digital Economy Partnership Agreement) International Centre (DEPA IC in short) is the Singapore-based DEPA centric independent think tank. The Centre provides ecosystem for global digital economy collaboration, business transformation, digital innovation pilot projects and research studies among DEPA member countries such as Singapore, Chile, New Zealand and South Korea or countries including but not limited to ASEAN, Australia, Canada, China, Europe and Peru embracing digitalisation in cross-border trade.

DEPA IC set up DEPA Linknodes globally to enhance the digital connectivity. The Centre leverages Singapore’s global hub status as headquarter to connect seamlessly with the DEPA’s digital economies.

DEPA IC and its global Linknodes aims to serve the TARGET audience. TARGET stands for Technology enabled Academia, Researchers, Government, Entrepreneurs and Businesses as well as Talents.

In-House Community

Founded in 1998, The In-House Community is a mutually supportive community of In-House Counsel helping In-House Counsel and Compliance Professionals meet their ethical, legal and business commitments and responsibilities within their organisations.

The In-House Community is comprised of over 17,000 in-house lawyers, and those with a responsibility for legal and compliance issues within organisations in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, who we engage via: IHC Magazine, The Briefing, and IHC Events such as In-House Community Congress.

Singapore Business Federation (SBF)

As the apex business chamber, the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) champions the interests of the business community in Singapore in trade, investment and industrial relations. Nationally, SBF acts as the bridge between the government and businesses in Singapore to create a conducive business environment. Internationally, SBF represents the business community in bilateral, regional and multilateral fora for the purpose of trade expansion and business networking.

Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC)

The Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) is a division of the General Division of the Singapore High Court. Established in 2015, the SICC has gained a reputation as a leading and trusted neutral forum for effective transnational dispute resolution. The SICC bench comprises a diverse panel of eminent international and local Judges experienced in specialist commercial disputes. Described as “arbitration in litigation”, the SICC combines the best practices of international arbitration with the substantive principles of international commercial law. Procedures are flexible and may be tailored to suit parties’ preferences in many aspects, and foreign lawyers may represent parties in certain circumstances. Yet the SICC retains the key advantages of litigation such as the right of appeal and published judgments, as well as issuing orders for the joinder of third and related parties – vital in multi-party/multi-contract scenarios. Parties around the world choose to resolve their disputes before the SICC because it offers a truly unique and cost-effective dispute resolution option.

Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE)

The Singapore Institute of Legal Education is a statutory body established under the Legal Profession Act 1966. The Institute is entrusted with maintaining and improving the standards of legal education in Singapore, and has powers to review the implementation of initiatives, programmes and curricula relating to legal education in Singapore, including diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and continuing professional development.

Singapore Management University, The Centre for Computational Law (CCLAW)

The Centre for Computational Law (CCLAW) at the Singapore Management University is Singapore’s first and only research centre focused on applied research in the intersection between law and technology. The Centre’s flagship project is the Research Programme in Computational Law (the Programme), supported by a major grant of S$15 million by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Singapore. The Programme aims to make computational law a reality: from designing and implementing a domain-specific language for law (DSL), to building technologies that will bring computational capabilities to any process that involves legal or quasi-legal elements.

Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)

The Singapore University of Social Sciences School of Law focuses on the training and development of practice-ready lawyers specialising in the highly demanded areas of criminal law and family law. Our programmes adopt a pedagogical approach that emphasises problem-solving by combining the learning of substantive law with application. Together with exposure to cross-disciplinary areas, our graduates will be prepared to face criminal and family legal work that have become increasingly specialised over time.
