Tony Casey is Donald M. Ephraim Professor of Law and Economics at the University of Chicago Law School. He is also the Faculty Director of the Law School’s Center on Law and Finance. His research examines the intersection of finance and law, with a focus on corporate bankruptcy. He has written about topics including asset valuation, creditor priority, the constitutionality of bankruptcy courts, and intercreditor agreements.

Before entering academics, Professor Casey was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focused on corporate bankruptcy, merger litigation, and securities litigation.

Professor Casey received his JD, with High Honors in 2002 from The University of Chicago Law School.
